Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 20, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Anifira (“Anifira,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and protects information when you use our random text and video chat platform at anifira.com (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

The Service is intended solely for users aged 18 and older. It functions strictly as a peer-to-peer (P2P) matching platform. By choosing to connect, you explicitly consent to be matched randomly with adult strangers.

2. Information We Collect

Anifira is built around anonymous, low-friction chat. Because the architecture relies on direct peer-to-peer connections after matching, we keep the data processed by our servers to the absolute minimum required to pair you with a partner and maintain network stability.

2.1 Automatically Collected (All Users)

  • IP address — used temporarily by our server to match you with a chat partner, apply regional preferences, and enforce bans and abuse prevention.
  • Device and browser information — user-agent string, device type, screen resolution, time zone, and preferred language.
  • Session data — connection timestamps, session duration, and events like skips, disconnects, and reports, used to improve matching.
  • WebRTC connection data — ICE candidates and temporary signaling metadata required to establish a direct peer-to-peer audio, video, or text connection between your browser and your chat partner’s browser.

2.2 Optional Information

  • Nickname, interests, or gender/region filters — if you choose to enter these before starting a chat, to improve matching parameters.
  • Account details (registered users only) — email address, username, and a hashed password, if you create an account for features like a Premium subscription. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account name and email.

2.3 What We Don’t Collect

We do not require or collect your real name, government ID, phone number, or physical address. We do not access your browsing activity outside Anifira.

2.4 Video, Audio, and Chat Content

Anifira operates on a strict peer-to-peer decentralized model.

  • Video and audio streams travel directly between your device and your chat partner’s device via WebRTC. They are never routed through, processed, or stored by our servers.
  • Text chat messages and shared files/images are transmitted directly between peers. Our servers do not read, log, intercept, or store the contents of your conversations.
  • Because communications are direct and unmoderated by the server, users are responsible for the content they choose to share or view. No automated server-side image blurring, altering, or media filtering is applied.

2.5 Payments

If you purchase Premium access, our payment processor collects the email and/or phone number you enter at checkout. We store only a one-way hash of that information so you can restore your Premium entitlement on another device. We don’t verify the accuracy of what you enter, so please double-check it — if you lose access, contact us with your payment ID and we’ll help you recover your access.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To match you with a chat partner and facilitate the P2P connection handshake.
  • To detect, prevent, and enforce infrastructure-level bans against malicious network behavior.
  • To maintain the security, stability, and performance of the matching platform.
  • To review text-based user reports and logs submitted regarding platform misuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations and respond to valid legal requests.

4. Content Safety and User Discretion

Because Anifira is a decentralized P2P platform that instantly matches you with strangers upon your explicit request, we do not have visibility into, access to, or control over the live media streams or data exchanged between peers.

  • User Consent: By clicking to connect, you understand and agree that you are entering an unfiltered, live interaction with a stranger. You are solely responsible for your own safety and what you choose to expose yourself to.
  • Reporting System: If a peer acts maliciously or violates our terms, you can use the in-app reporting tool. While we cannot retrieve the past P2P video stream, we will review the report along with associated session logs (such as IP addresses and connection timestamps) to issue platform-level bans.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

We keep browser storage minimal:

  • Theme/preference storage — remembers settings like dark/light mode.
  • Session token — a short-lived, anonymous token used only for the duration of your visit; not linked to a personal identity.

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

6. Data Retention

Data categoryRetention period
Guest session data (IP, device, connection logs)Up to 30 days
Chat messages, media files, and media streamsNever stored (transmitted strictly P2P)
Registered account dataUntil account deletion, then removed within 30 days
Reports and moderation recordsUp to 12 months
Ban/enforcement historyUp to 2 years
Payment/transaction records7 years (financial compliance)
Aggregated analyticsUp to 26 months

7. Third-Party Services

We rely on a minimal set of infrastructure providers to coordinate connections:

  • Signaling & STUN/TURN Architecture — infrastructure used strictly to negotiate the initial network handshake and route encrypted data when direct P2P connections are blocked by strict firewalls.
  • Cloudflare — Network security, DDoS protection, and CDN routing.

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

8. Legal Disclosure

We may disclose infrastructure session information — including IP addresses, connection timestamps, and account details — if required by a valid court order, subpoena, or equivalent legal process, or if we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent harm to a person. Because we do not store communications, no chat histories, audio logs, or video records can be produced for legal requests.

9. Security

We use HTTPS/TLS encryption for server interactions, and standard WebRTC encryption protocols (DTLS/SRTP) to safeguard connections directly between peers. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection of network routing data.

If a security breach occurs that affects your infrastructure logs, we will notify relevant authorities and affected users without undue delay, consistent with applicable law.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights. Contact us at support@anifira.com to exercise them; we aim to respond within 30 days.

EU / UK (GDPR / UK GDPR): access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and the right to withdraw consent or lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

California (CCPA/CPRA): right to know, delete, and non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

India (DPDP Act, 2023): right to access, correct, and erase personal data, and to grievance redressal.

Brazil (LGPD): access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection rights.

Because most Anifira usage is anonymous and transient (tied only to short-term connection data that we do not link to your real-world identity), there may be little to no persistent personal data to access or delete unless you have created an account.

11. Children’s Privacy

Anifira is strictly intended only for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly match or collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has accessed the Service, please contact us immediately at support@anifira.com so we can terminate their access token and ban the underlying IP address.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect once posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date will be revised. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
